what is important

I would just like to point out the fact that Obama and McCain are not running for the office of Prime  Minister of Canada.  Neither are Biden or Palin.  I overhear my neighbours talking in the hall or the elevator and they talk about these names and politics.  Where is the concern for their own country?  Where is the interest in the election happening here?  For god’s sake I don’t give a crap if Palin is smart or a complete moron.  I want to know what Stephane´Dion is going to do about climate change.  I want to know how Jack Layton is going to help cities like mine ease transportation crises.  Is Stephen Harper going to continue to advance a corporate first agenda.  Can Elizabeth May present a multiple issue platform or is she just going to cry about the sky is falling.  I am not going to include Duceppe because it is a mystery to me why a seperatist, provincial party has a federal party designation.

These neighbours of mine have not once mentioned anything to do with our own election.  i’ll bet every last one of them will watch the vice-presidential debate tonight.  I’ll bet not one of them will watch the Canadian political leaders debate.  An historical debate I might add, with the inclusion of the Green Party’s leader, Elizabeth May.

This seems to me to be a basic issue.  If you are Canadian and you want to continue to live here and be a Canadian, then participate in the process!  If you don’t care and you don’t vote get the fuck out of my country!  You are sucking up my oxygen and my tax dollars.  If you don’t think your vote can do anything or counts for anything, you are wrong.  Grow a brain, get an informed opinion and participate.  VOTE.
